Privacy Policy
Comment Cleaner for 9GAG ("the extension") is a browser extension that helps you find and delete your own comments on 9gag.com. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how. In short: everything stays in your browser. The extension has no server, collects no analytics and sends your data to no one except 9gag.com itself.
Data the extension handles
- Your 9GAG account details – your username, account ID and the comment authorization token that 9GAG returns to its own website. They are used only to identify your comments and to send delete requests on your behalf. They are kept in memory while the extension page is open and are not stored.
- Your comments – the text, date, score and post title of comments you wrote, plus the list of posts you commented on. They are loaded from 9gag.com, shown in the extension page and discarded when you close it.
- 9GAG session cookies (only if you use "Sign in to a new account") – to let you
switch between several 9GAG accounts without signing out, the extension saves the cookies of each
account you add in
chrome.storage.local, which is local storage inside your browser profile. They are restored only to 9gag.com when you switch accounts.
The extension never sees or stores your 9GAG password. You always sign in directly on 9gag.com.
Where your data goes
The extension communicates only with 9GAG's own servers (9gag.com and
comment.9gag.com), using the same requests the 9GAG website makes when you browse it
while signed in. It does not send any data to the developer or to any third party. It contains no
analytics, tracking, advertising or remote code.
Sharing and sale of data
Your data is not sold, transferred or shared with anyone, is not used for advertising, and is not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes. It is used for no purpose other than the extension's single function: finding and deleting your own 9GAG comments.
Retention and deletion
- Loaded comments and account details are held only in memory and disappear when you close the extension page.
- Saved account cookies remain in
chrome.storage.localuntil you remove the extension or clear the extension's data. Removing the extension deletes them. - Comments you delete with the extension are deleted on 9GAG and cannot be restored by the extension.
Security
Saved session cookies give access to the corresponding 9GAG accounts. Anyone with access to your browser profile could use them, just as they could use your normal 9gag.com sign-in. On a shared computer, sign out of 9GAG or remove the extension after use.

Children
The extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly handle data of children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
